What's up with Virginia drivers???

Fabiola and I went to the park today and decided to walk since it was pretty nicew out. Got the Chariott with the strolling attachment ready and headed out. Had a great time with all our friends. As we are heading back, I'm super careful in intersection because most people will not stop to let us cross.
We are crossing the street heading north, no cars are coming, a pickup truck heading south decides to make a sudden right hand turn from the left lane AS WE ARE CROSSING.

Well the F*&%$R almost hits us. he slowed down enough to yell sorry out the window and kept going.

I hate people!

Had a good week and then sick again

Last week and the begining of this one were great. Got all my workouts in and was feeling really good. I've knocked off 1 minute of my per mile pace in the run and 20 seconds off in my per 100 meter swim. Then, woke up Thursday feeling like crap. Sore throat, stuffy. No swim, no bike. It stinks to feel like I'm getting aheasd and doing well and then something happens.
I spend way too much time around babies and other people that are constantly sick. I have had about 4 colds since January and they always kick my a#%.

It's been a few weeks since mother's day. I have a picture in y hallway of me and my mom along with my sisters on my first mother's day as a baby. I was 6 months old. We are standing in front of our house. I tried recreating it with Fabiola, but it didn't turn out as cute as I expected. Maybe I was hoping for more.

This is my mom in the picture on the left. The photo was taken way before I was born. A lot of people say we look a lot a like, I still have a hard time seeing it.

I haven't been able to enjpy mother's day since she died in 2000, but this year was diffrent. We took Fabiola on her mother;s day as a baby to the Reston Zoo. It was a lot of fun watching her trying to grab the camels and goats.

I wonder regularly if Fabiola will have a hard time enjoying holidays if I die young also. Don't get me wrong, I plan on hanging around for a long time, but so did my mom.

Things are busy!

I've been consistently training for over a month now. Things are finally starting to fall into place. I usually have 2 workouts a day, so I do one during the day with Fabiola and one at night when I get out of work. It's been lots of fun running with Fabiola, even though it's a lot harder. I've been averaging my HR and mph and i run about 30 seconds per mile slower and my HR is about 15 to 20 faster. We also have to jump on the grass sometimes when the path is crowded.
Biking for now has been only on the trainer. She sits in her rocker in front of the bike and we "talk" while I bike. Every once in a while, I have to interrup the bike ride to feed her, hold her or change her and getting back on is no easy task!!
Well, anyway, I feel like we have a routine and she is getting used to it. I try to sneak my strenght training in with my clients, when I give them something to do and I do it with them, specially the core exercises. They seem to enjoy it and I get some stuff done. If anything is suffering is my house work, but the Kid seems happier than ever!

First Week Down (almost)

Last Monday, I officially started training with a coach. I've known Erika for a few years and she is a great athlete and a great friend. She trained Rolando last year for Eagleman and he was very happy with her. She gave me my schedule for the week and so far so good. I missed last nights workout though, very disappointing. I teach Spinning once a week on Thursdays at AOL and nobody came last night. Now, this is the first week back after the Holidays and all classes have had very little to no attendance. It doesn't bother me if it's any other class (I also teach a 50-50 class, half cardio, half strenght), but for some reason I take it personally when it's spinning. I'm very proud of my class and really enjoy teaching. I actually look forward to yelling into a microphone for an hour. More people have been buying class passes today and have been e-mailing about class schedule, one lady was specifically e-mailing about my class, that made me feel a little better.
Well, gotta run (literally).
